Have you ever played running poker before?
Highly doubtful.
My coach has a set of notecards with distances on them and another with times. To begin our workout, we choose a distance to run. Once we’re done with that, we choose a rest time and then another distance until we’ve done them all.
200, 200, 200, 200, 400, 400, 600, 600, 800, 800, 800, 800
1 min., 1 min., 1 min., 1 min., 1.5 min., 1.5 min., 2 min., 2 min., 2 min., 2.5 min., 2.5 min., 3 min.
I’m not kidding when I say it’s my favorite work-out. It turns running into a game, like poker (even if it is more like Russian Roulette).
I think my watch is broken. It says I ran a mile in 6:21. I’ve never done that before.

and there, there was the football captain from our school’s team. He’s one of the best on a team that hasn’t lost a game so far and went to states last year. He turned to me and my friends and said, “Are you girls on the cross-country team?” When we answered in the affirmative, he said, “I have so much respect for you girls as athletes. Putting aside the fact that I can’t run a mile, let alone seven, you girls never look happy when you go off to run. Never. And yet you come back every day and every year to run. Not only that, but I have never once met a mean cross-country runner. Not one. You’re all just such nice people.”

I dunno if the quality is awful from this - but this is my friend julie at Nike Nationals 2010. She tripped and got spiked in the beginning of the race. She finished the race though, and needed 25 stitches in her leg. You can still see the scars
She’s legit. I kinda wanna send this picture to a Nike rep and talk to them about an ad…… how cool would that be?
